As a passionate soloist, teacher, and musician, Kyle has established himself as a highly sought-after soloist and effective educator. He has performed as a soloist across the country and with ensembles such as the Houston Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic, the National Cathedral Choral Society, and is a regular member of the Washington Trombone Ensemble. More recently Kyle has been a featured soloist with The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own."  

Before assuming his current position in one of the country's premier bands, Kyle served as the bass trombonist for the Houston Grand Opera for three seasons. He holds a Master of Music in trombone performance from the renowned Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where in addition to his degree he was awarded the Performer's Certificate in recognition of his outstanding work as a solo performer. During his time at the Jacobs School, he was also the winner of the brass concerto competition. Kyle also holds a bachelor's degree in K-12 Instrumental and Vocal Music Education from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and has pursued additional studies in early music and bass sackbut.

As an educator, Kyle has shared his expertise through his private studio teaching, masterclasses, and has been an artist in residence at both Drake University and Lonestar Community College. Kyle’s students have found success at institutions of music including Rice University, Indiana University, and Arizona State University. Kyle is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and was the recipient of the James M. Cox Memorial Scholarship for music educators.
